Due to the substantial rise in demand for our therapies and adaptive activities, HTR is no longer offering traditional day camps.


Our summer camp programming includes Mini Camp and Occupational Therapy Intensives. Check out the info below to learn more! 


Mini Camp

What is it?

Heartland Mini Camp is a week long, mini length, day camp, specially designed for kids who need higher support and a shorter day. 


Daily sessions are 1.5 hour long and include one daily riding lesson and other horse themed activities, based upon the campers wants and needs. 



 

Qualifications

  • Has a documented disability 
  • 6-14 years old 
  • Under 180lbs 
  • Can use the restroom independently OR bring a support person

Support

Activities

Mini camp is designed for kids who need a higher level of support than a typical camp provides. However, it is open to all children who meet the basic qualifications. 


On the ground; Staff to camper ration is very low with 1:1 support available. 


On the horse; HTR also provides leaders and sidewalkers based on campers needs.

Occupational Therapy Intensives

What is it?

Possible Activities

Qualifications

Occupational Therapy Intensives feature 1.5 hour long daily sessions, for four consecutive days. 


Sessions are designed and lead by a licensed Occupational Therapist and focus on nature based therapies and activities, including incorporation of equine movement(hippotherapy). All sessions are one on one with a Heartland Therapy Services Therapist.
